Extremadura
a beautiful region of middle Spain that is situated just over 2 hours
south west of Madrid the Capital city of Spain, an area that is untouched by
tourism, a gem in the heart of the country, which still holds to the old
traditions and values we all hear about and would like to have.
Taking a leisurely drive on quiet roads in the countryside passing fields of
lavender, poppies and many other varieties of wild flower (beautiful in spring),
take a break at any bar for a regional tapa, extremadura is well known for its
hams, cheeses, chorizo(spicy sausage) and honey, so there is no excuse to miss
out on some goat cheese starter to get the tastbuds going then followed by a ham
joint glazed with honey for the Sunday roast and washed down with a fine local
wine, or if the need takes, pack a picnic basket drive down to one of the many
lakes that abound in this region, extremadura has more lakes than anyware else in
Spain,( with lake shorelines that are longer than the coast of Spain) and enjoy
a leasurely swim.
And because of this we decided to open an office in Extremadura, and are now in
our third year here in Extremadura, we have been in Spain for over eleven years,
we moved here with our three children (who are all grown up now) who speak
fluent Spanish, the last three years we have lived in Herrera del Duque in
Extremadura where we have become part of the community, and have decided to go
on our own, giving you the best value and selection in rural and village
properties.
